A shared resource for all those helping to coordinate volunteer time in classrooms everywhere.
Welcome to Room Mom Central
School begins...and just as room moms in every classroom begin to plan a year's worth of classroom parties...I turned to the internet in search of resources, where I was inspired to create my own place for resources.
About me...
I am a teacher. I have been very fortunate to have had so many great parent volunteers throughout the years. I am also a room mom/classroom volunteer for my own child.
Please feel free to add your ideas...and comment on activities that have worked (or not worked) for you.
Planning a Party (minus the chaos)
Here are a few of the many ways in which you could organize your classroom party.
Rotating Stations: Length of time: 1 hour Rotate every 15 minutes, four times.
1. Craft 2. Game 3. Game or Craft 4. Snack time
OR

The last 15 minutes: Snack time for everyone
I prefer this option, especially with younger children. This gives them time to eat, and also gives them somewhere to go if they finish a game/craft early.
What a fun project that the kids can do in about 15 minutes. (one egg per kid) Cut apart the egg carton so that each egg has one. Have the eggs prepped (washed, emptied, break open the tops) and ready to go. Provide the kids with the cotton wool and seeds, and let them decorate how they please.
This website was created to share ideas collected from many, many sources in a general, easy to use format. I do my best to note the source of the idea...but even teachers make mistakes. If you notice something I missed, please let me know about it.
