Pencils, M&M's, and a Candy Bar

A few ideas for Teacher Appreciation Week.
1.  Wrapped Pencils
Take a few pencils and colored string. I macrame-d friendship bracelet string around each pencil and wrapped them in raffia to complete the look.

2.  Wrapped Hershey Bar
Using a simple glue stick, I covered the candy bar with decorative paper.  Then I printed out a new label on to loose-leaf paper and wrapped the bar.  Super Simple.

3.  M&M's in a Mason Jar
I filled a mason jar with M&M's and attached this cute poem.

How wonderful is this?  I have a parent in my classroom that makes these.  I had this one made for my daughter's teacher.  It's a paint can that I will fill with little teacher goodies.

End of the Year is Here!

The end of the year is here.
Time to show those teachers how much we appreciate all of their hard work.

I found this idea, and decided to try it.  The problem...my daughter's teacher's last name begins with a *B*.  So, trying to get the crayon tips work this way was...well, not working. So here's what I did.  I used a shadow box from JoAnn Fabrics ($5.00 w/ my coupon).

In addition to the frame, I found this cute cup at JoAnn Fabrics for about $6.  I wrapped a "Thank You" ribbon on it, put in a "Thank You" gift card from Target and a delicious Iced Coffee Via from Starbucks.  Here is my version:

Then just today, I came across a very similar idea....Ha! Great minds think alike!  I love the straw flags on this one!

Welcome Back!

It's that time of year again.  Around here, school has already started (gotta love that year 'round school schedule). If you are looking for a few back to school ideas...here are a few simple ideas.

Excited about the First Day

Give your teacher a bottle of water or a new water bottle with a label/card that reads "I just can't keep it "bottled up"....I'm so excited to begin Second Grade!

Go Old School....

Bring a big, red, juicy apple for the teacher on the first day!
It's the thought that counts.

Oh No! It's the end of the year!

The end of the school year is so busy, but don't forget to take time to thank the teacher for a wonderful year! 

Here are some ideas that I have done in the past. 

*  Purchase a plant, decorate the pot and add a tag that reads, "Thanks for helping me grow!” 

*  Purchase a "decorate your own" coffee cup and put a Starbucks gift card in it.

*  A simple heartfelt letter of thanks is always welcome. Make your own on your home computer.

*  Create a Thank You stepping stone (here is a good site to DIY)  

*  Share the cost of purchasing a director's chair, and have the students sign their names on the cloth.

Quick and Easy...Show Appreciation

What you need to buy:
1- Snicker Bar
1- Pack of Lifesavers
1- Pack of Gummy Bears
1- Mint
1- Handful of Hershey Kisses


Put them all in a bag, and present them with a card that says:

Dear Teacher,
Don't SNICKER but I think that you are great!
You truly are a LIFESAVER.
You make me feel BEARY special.
Thanks a MINT for all you do!

A Pot of Flowers

Make a bouquet of easy to make flower pens. Begin by decorating a terracotta pot however you like, then add a handful of dried moss, small river rocks or dried beans, and stick in a dozen flower pens.  A wonderful gift that any teacher would appreciate.  Thoughtful, handmade and practical.
